Picture Of The Week, Wagon Wheel Acans
This is a tough picture because of the super intense blues, but the unique design of this coral made it jump out to us as a clear candidate for this week’s AquaNerd Picture of the Week. This acan is pretty unusual in that it has several vertical stripes that originate at its mouth and radiate outwards toward the farthest edge. While vertical stripes on acans is no new or rare thing, we don’t often seem them in this configuration, where they are so unbroken and well defined. It is a beautiful frag regardless, and it would look good in any tank, super blued out or not. We have tentatively dubbed this the Wagon Wheel Acan since the stripes somewhat resemble the long spokes of the old wooden wheels found on horse drawn wagons.
